How our services work

Complete and submit our online confidential request form.
Step 2
You can expect to receive an email or phone call from a staff member within the next 3-5 business days with next steps. Depending on our assessment of your form, next steps could include a referral to an internal Rise program, or to external resources.
Please note that we are not an urgent service. If your family law matter has crucial time limits, please seek advice from a lawyer as soon as possible.
How we provide services
We ask you only provide us a safe email on the request form. Our first contact with you is usually via email. Please check your spam folder if our email is not in your inbox. Emails you can expect from us after you send us a request - book an appointment, information about community resources, or questions we may have.
Legal navigation services are provided over the phone. We ask you only provide us a safe phone number on the request form. Our legal navigators will call you at the scheduled appointment time. Our family law advocates and program assistants may also call you for appointments or follow-ups.
Most summary advice appointments with the lawyers are virtual unless they are requested by phone. If you are speaking with a lawyer at or through Rise, we will send a zoom link to you or your support worker (if you are working with one).
We have very limited in-person services. Drop-in services are available on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month between 1PM - 4PM at our offices in Vancouver, Suite #820, 510 Burrard St.. Drop-in staff are not lawyers and cannot provide legal advice. We are unable to assist walk-ins outside of these dates and times. Email clc@womenslegalcentre.ca for more details.
